The 6m Solent Rib is ideal for anyone looking for a larger boat that will give excellent performance within a realistic budget. The deep V hull allows the rib to perform well at speed (up to 45mph), giving both performance and the stability of a dry fast rib. It would also suit the smaller diving club if it was propelled by a 90hp. The Solent Rib 600 package is sold as a rib with tapered tubes and fenders, lifelines & an anchor locker. Stainless steel under floor 160L tank with sender and fuel access hatch. The boat is laid out with a forward facing console with a front cushioned seat and locker. It has 4 x single seat pods, cushioned with stainless steel backrests. |

All of our ribs over 6m can be fitted with a diesel inboard engine. Although a higher initial cost the diesel engine is suited to customers that are intending to use the rib 100/150 running hours a year. The fuel running costs are considerably lower averaging on 2-3 gallons of diesel per hour.
Solent Ribs have a deep V design hull but the rib is still very beamy. It is designed to be exactly 8ft 2" wide from tube to tube whilst inflated. This is the maximum width that can be legally towed by a private user on the British highway. Some craft exceed this width and tubes have to be deflated when the rib is being towed. Our crafts do not rely on extra bow weight i.e. ballast or water tanks to perform well at speed. This enables us to build a fast performing craft, which is better value for money. The SR 600 is roomy enough to have a diesel inboard engine installed and still allow for the standard seating as shown below. (Click on photos below) |
