Buying you rib is half the story. One of the reasons are ribs are so successful is that we ensure that the engine installation compliments the quality of the rib build. When we sell you the rib at handover we will offer you a launch and water test before you take the rib away. This ensures that you are happy with your new purchase and that we are happy that the complete package has passed our performance criteria's. All of our engines are installed by qualified marine engineers. Our sister company Fairweather Marine Ltd is an authorised E-tec Service Centre and a Masterzone  Service Centre for Mercury/Mariner products and an authorised service centre for Suzuki Outboards.. A badly installed engine will leave you with a poor performance rib!    

There are two main rigging packages based on engine hp and type.

Engines 50hp to 90hp Rigging

• Fuel system
• Engine control cables and battery system
• Bilge pump system dual auto 500 gph
• Three way splash proof switch panel
• Cable steering
• Oil & sundries
• All labour for installation of A frame if needed and complete rigging of any outboard with all above parts including PDI & water test

Engines 90hp+ V4 & V6 engines Rigging

• Fuel system including:
• fuel filler. fuel filler recess, fuel vent. fuel filler and vent pipe, tank outlet pipe, water separator filter. primer bulb, clips, bulk head fitting.
• Engine control cables and battery system including:
• cables - gear & throttle, battery cable one piece from engine to battery, battery ends, battery, battery switch, battery box.
• Bilge pump system dual auto 500 gph
• Three way splash proof switch panel
• Hydraulic steering rated to 300hp
• Sundries including:
• steering wheel, spiral band, pipe work, jubilee clips, oil
• All labour for installation of A frame if needed and complete rigging of any outboard with all above parts including PDI & water test

The rigging costs need to be taken into account when budgeting for your rib package.

When quoting on a rib package we would include the engine and rigging costs in with the quote.

Inboard and Verado engines are subject to extra charges which will be confirmed on a quote.

As boat builders we are reluctant for engines to be rigged by external companies as we cannot guarantee their work and this can affect the integrity of our ribs.

We can rig second hand engines if you are upgrading your rib in stages.

Choosing the right engine for your rib package will depend on how you want to use the rib and how much you want to spend on the engine. We can supply any outboard you want. We are happy to install new or second hand engines and will try and advise you on the best options available at the time you want to buy your rib.

With the transom layout on our ribs we can supply and fit the engine of your choice.  The ribs have been CE marked by the RYA.  They can carry up to 225hp on the 6.5m to 7.5m rib.  (Up to 135hp on the 6m rib). For customers interested in rib racing, twin installations or specific layouts the transom can be built up to suit the customers application.
